2019 Ducati Monster 821 Stealth: Overview

Ducati, Italy’s favourite motorcycle company, is unveiling its new creations one after the other throughout the different niches of the wonderful world of motorcycling. After the Ducati Panigale V4R, Scrambler 1100 and its versions of Cafe Racer, Full Throttle and Desert Sled, Ducati is thrilled to add their new addition to the Monster range, which has been a trendsetter in terms of stylish design for many decades. 

The Ducati Monster has long been known as a global standard of style, sophistication, performance and technology. The new Ducati Monster 821 Stealth with its distinctive matte black and red livery is no exception to this rule, because it proudly carries the genes of this legendary lineage. The Stealth version comes equipped for the occasion with a front fork that incorporates the design of the front fairing trim and passenger seat cover. 

Did someone say power?

Engine-wise, the new 2019 Monster 821 Stealth remains true to the new L-twin Testastretta, an improved version that generates 109 horsepower at 9250 rpm and 64.5 lb/ft of torque. The engineers assure us that it exudes the sound and sensations that are known from the Bolognese machines. There is also a full electronics package, including a two-way electronic gearshift control system, 3-stage traction control, 3 engine mapping modes, 3 ABS responsiveness levels and an under-the-seat USB outlet.   

The chassis itself is not left behind either: it includes an exclusive 43 mm Kayaba fork with 130 mm of adjustable travel between compression and rebound and a preload adjustable shock absorber. When it comes to road rubber, the Ducati Monster boasts the impressive Pirelli Diablo Rosso III, a testament to the serenity and pleasure of riding. Braking is provided by Brembo M4-32 components, 320 mm discs and an advanced ABS braking system.

Ducati Monster 821 Stealth: noteworthy advancements

You will recall that last year the Ducati Monster 821 underwent a noticeable redesign. One of the major issues, bike ergonomics, is now resolved, with the Monster accommodating riders of all sizes, thanks to a new, redesigned seat that comes with a height adjustment feature. It’s as simple as removing 4 rubber spacers to adjust from 785 to 810 mm from the ground. A straight tapered handlebar and footrests positioned in a direct vertical line with the seat dictate a sporty riding position with minimal exertion. The new TFT colour display – including a fuel gauge and engaged gear indicator – provides outstanding visual clarity. As always, at Ducati, the mirrors are aesthetically pleasing, space-saving and in the appropriate median range for vision.

The Monster 821 Stealth combines the advancements of 2018 with a jolting style for 2019, making it the most enviable machine on the market.
